Since 2004, Forthright Radio has been producing interviews with people at the cutting edge of science, politics and culture. It is originally broadcast from the Philo studios of KZYXfm, Mendocino County Public Broadcasting with Host/producer, Joy LaClaire. Since 2014, it has been produced in Bozeman, MT and also broadcasts from Gallatin Valley Community Radio’s KGVMfm.

Joy‘s work was recognized with the 2024 Spirit of Broadcasting Award by the Montana Broadcasters Association and the Greater Montana Foundation.

In addition to Forthright Radio, Beyond the Deep End Productions also includes Harmonics, Ecotones and Radio Goes to the Movies, as well as recording and producing local lectures and events for KGVM.

Forthright Radio broadcasts on KZYX on the second and fourth Fridays of the month at 9am PT, as well as every Saturday and Wednesday at 9am MT. It can be streamed in real time on kzyx.org or kgvm.org.

Harmonics broadcasts every Sunday morning from 7 – 9 (MT), and can be streamed in real time at kgvm.org.

Archived editions of Ecotones and Radio Goes to the Movies, which are not regularly scheduled for broadcast, are archived on this website.
